SRO TC America Week Recap

We’ve finally caught our breath from our first TC America race week, and what a week it was! A podium in our first race, a great race pace all weekend, and our drivers wheeled their tails off all week.

On Friday morning our drivers Tristan Herbert (#44) and Vinnie Lima (#88) both gave a solid performance during qualifying, claiming 5th and 10th respectively for the first race of the weekend. Right from the start In the race, Tristan was fighting for 4th through 7th position while Vinnie was steady and got up to speed quickly in his first professional race. Tristan was able to make passes on a handful of cars and sat in 4th place but was running out of time to catch the leaders when the 3rd place car shredded its left front tire. This allowed Tristan to take the checkered flag in 3rd and the podium, while Vinnie finished 9th.

The lineup for race 2 was set based on the fastest laps from Friday’s race. Tristan would start from the 7th position and Vinnie from 10th. When the green flag waved Tristan slipped to 8th but kept the car underneath him, methodically making his way to 5th as the race wore on. Vinnie held his position throughout the race, ultimately finishing 9th as an incident clean up forced an early end to race 2.

Our first race weekend was an absolute blast and easily exceeded our expectations. The team gelled quickly and we made positive progress on each car during each on-track session and we feel confident that we can continue to contend for podiums should we find ourselves on track again this year (stay tuned…).
