Quality Maintenance Parts Matter

MANN FiltersEveryone knows that having the right parts for the job is important, but the quality of the part is far too often overlooked. Whether you’re working on your car yourself, or having us do the job at one of our shops, we make sure that only quality parts are supplied. At NGP, we only use parts that are either OE or those that match or exceed the OE specs. By doing this, we ensure that your car will function the same as when it was new or if possible, even better.

In today’s economy, price is often the deciding factor when it comes to picking a replacement part for your car. More often than not though, choosing a cheaper part will end up costing you more in the long run. For example, choosing a cheap, poorly designed thermostat could leave you on the side of the road with an overheating car. Using a typical off-brand oil filter from your local auto parts store can cause valvetrain wear issues down the road due to cheap filter construction and a faulty check valve. Installing cheap spark plugs can lead to misfires, lower fuel economy and a loss of power. So the next time that you’re trying to save a few bucks on a part, think about how it could cost you in the long run.

We also realize that where a part was manufactured can also have a bearing on its quality. By no means does this mean that a part made in China is always bad (several high quality Bosch parts at made in China), but we’ve found that most parts made in Germany, USA, and Japan tend to last longer and are usually better engineered. In order to do this we try to supply parts only from good, established companies such as MANN, Hengst, Victor Reinz, Lemforder, Continental, and NGK to name a few. We do our research to make sure that the companies we deal with have an established history of producing good quality parts that are sure to last a long time.

In addition, we also research parts across the range of VAG vehicles to find you OEM+ upgrades that will increase the capabilities of your car. Parts such as the solid rubber control arm bushings from the Audi TT models are a great example of this. Installing these bushings will give your vehicle better handling, and the the parts themselves will last longer than the standard VW bushings. Another good example are the various FSI coilpack upgrade kits that we offer for the 1.8T. These utilize the higher quality OEM FSI coilpacks to give you better performance and will last substantially longer than the OEM 1.8T coilpack.

So the next time that you need to change your oil, replace your spark plugs, coilpacks, or some random bushing, please give us a call or check out our online store before buying some cheap no-name replacement part that’s sure to cause you trouble. We’re always here to answer your questions about parts and service for your vehicle, and we’ll try our best to make sure that you get a part that will only enhance your driving experience. As always, we try to make sure that most parts are in stock and ready for pick-up or shipment immediately.
